IT Department continues CWG probe ,conducts searches at Wizcraft premises

The I T department carried out a search and seizure operation at the office premises of leading event management company- Wizcraft International, today in Mumbai. The raid was done in context of the investigation being carried out with regard to the alleged corruption, in the recently concluded Commonwealth Games in Delhi.

Wizcraft International was involved in producing the opening and closing ceremonies of the Commonwealth Games (CWG) held in Delhi in October. The agency was awarded the contract by the CWG organising committee despite being blacklisted by the National Games Organising Committee (NGOC) and facing a vigilance inquiry by the Jharkhand Vigilance Department for duping the state of Rs 2.5 crore.

This search was carried out in order to detect any instances of tax evasion .Tax officials scanned through a number of documents at the premises of the firm for the same.
